A Famous and Longtime Texas Favorite Restaurant Has Mysteriously Closed Its Doors
One of, if not, the most festive restaurants in Texas has closed its doors, seemingly for good after serving Texans for over 40 years.
Campo Verde located in Arlington, Texas has been a staple of the area for over 40 years. The Tex-Mex restaurant became iconic in the city and beyond as word spread, not only about the food, but about the decor inside.
In fact, the decorations inside the restaurant is what brought so many people to Campo Verde and brought many happiness as the restaurant was covered in Christmas decorations all year long. But on January 5, the doors closed and no one knows what will happen to the restaurant now.
Campo Verde In Arlington, TX Mysteriously Closes
The Dallas Morning News reported that a sign on the front door of Campo Verde indicated that the closure was only going to last a few days, but according to culturemap.com, employees have been laid off, the doors are still closed, and the phone number has been disconnected. But no one really knows why. The Dallas Morning News attempted to call the owners of Campo Verde but no one answered. And while the doors have been locked, the Christmas lights have remained on.
Campo Verde, A Christmas Paradise
Campo Verde was covered in Christmas decorations all year long, and when we say decorations, we mean every inch of the restaurant was seemingly covered in Christmas decorations. For locals and visitors, it had become a must-go tradition during the holidays as the restaurant had over 120,000 Christmas lights, 3,000 yards of garland, at least 50 Santa Claus statues, and 30 Christmas trees. And of course we can't forget about the model trains that circled the restaurant according to culturemap.
And these decorations were up all year long. A Christmas paradise for those who love Christmas any time of year. Below is a video from a few years ago giving a tour of Campo Verde.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the original owner and founder of Campo Verde sold the business in 2022. The current owner has other businesses in Louisiana.
