I swear, 2025 has been the year of the recall in Texas. A lot of them have been wrapped around food and drinks, but there have obviously been some product recalls as well. It just seems like the number of recalls this year, when it comes to what we put in our bodies, has been staggering.

There have been several different reasons items have been recalled. Salmonella concerns seemed to be the top of the list, but there were some strange ones, such as glass shards being in the food. However, I think we have officially found the most staggering recall of 2025...and it could potentially make you glow.

Walmart Frozen Shrimp Gets Recalled

Normally, this wouldn't be overly concerning. I mean, this is the type of item that has been recalled relatively often this year, and it's usually for something like salmonella concerns. There were three different lot codes that were recalled.

All of them are labeled "Great Value brand frozen raw shrimp". Each one of them has a best-by date of 3/15/2027. The lot codes (found on the bag) are 8005540-1, 8005538-1, and 8005539-1.

What's Wrong With The Shrimp

This is where it gets interesting. Remember when I said it could potentially make you glow? The FDA is concerned that the shrimp contains radiation. Yes...radiation.

Officials are worried there could be Cesium-137 in the shrimp and that it was either prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions, according to the press release. Now, there hasn't been a positive test on anything as of yet, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. If you have any of these bags, get them back to the store immediately and don't consume the product.
