Bridge Phobias That Hit Close to Home

I don't know about you, but bridges terrify me. There are 3 things I am afraid of driving on or under bridges.

  • Flying off the edge of a tall bridge
  • A tall bridge collapsed under my car
  • A bridge collapsing as I'm under it

So, when I'm on a bridge or under a bridge, it's a white-knuckled, Carrie Underwood Jesus Take the Wheel moment.

What Happened Near Tulia on May 27

A truck carrying a crane hit the bridge and caused the bridge to crumble.

The interstate was shut down, and traffic was diverted to the access roads after the bridge started crumbling.

What a scary moment for all of those traveling that road and witnessing it happening. That would include the people driving under the bridge and witnessing it, and those on the bridge at the time the crash occurred.
