A large boar was shot and killed at the old Six Flags in New Orleans, and now many are shocked to see such a huge animal in the city.

The amusement park, which has been closed for two decades, is finally being demolished, so there's now a lot of movement on the grounds of the park that's been closed, and those doing work are coming across things that they probably didn't know existed there, like wild animals.

Bayou Phoenix developers are tearing down a portion of the run-down amusement park, with plans to redevelop the area in New Orleans East with a water park, sports complex, hotel, and family entertainment center.

Having been abandoned for so many years, there's no doubt that wild animals, like pigs, settled into the area of Six Flags, and I don't doubt that more wild animals will be killed as workers continue to dismantle portions of the park.

According to FOX 8 LIVE, 62 structures are being torn down during this demolition process, and will last for much of 2025 and even into 2026.

Here's a look at the massive boar that was shot near the demolition site in New Orleans East.

Wild hogs have become a nuisance in Louisiana. A few years back, someone caught a pack of them running along the levees on the Kenner Lakefront.

LOOK: Cool Car Features We Kind of Miss

Kids these days don't know what they're missing out on! But hey, let's be real, some of those old car features were pretty awesome. Yeah, they might've been a bit risky and even tried to kill us, but they made our rides feel way cooler.
