One of El Paso’s Favorite Karaoke Bars is Sadly Closing This Week
When you want to enjoy a night out in El Paso, a great way to enjoy yourself is to do a little karaoke. For me, I know some of my favorite spots was at King's X, or during the karaoke nights held at Monarch or Rubik's (now Rad Retrodcade).
Without a doubt one of the spots I sung at the most was Duets on Montana. It was a very popular spot to go with friends on a Friday or Saturday night.
Sadly that will change after they made a shocking announcement on social media.
Duets in El Paso announced on Facebook that they will be closing.
If you were on Facebook Monday afternoon &you were following the Duets Facebook page, then you saw them announce that they will be shutting the doors after being in business for 7 long years.
One thing that wasn't in the initial post was exactly WHEN will they be closing. Some people asked this question online, to which Duets said "this will be our last week/weekend". In other days, once Monday of next week rolls around, it will most likely be closed.
I wasn't the only one shocked by the announcement; many people took online to express their feelings for their decision to close. A lot of people expressed their thanks for the fun times & how they would visit with friends and family.
I've certainly done my share of singing at Duets as well; some of my favorite memories include belting out "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness or "Dream On" by Aerosmith with...varying levels of success.
It's a real shame that Duets will be closing this week but I know many people in El Paso will always be thankful for the memories.
Thank you Duets.
