Less than a week after upsetting arch-rival Oklahoma, the Texas Longhorns are on a recruiting roll.

Liberty-Eylau defensive end Lagarryon Carson, the top-ranked defensive end in the state by Scout.com, committed to the Longhorns on Thursday. It was first reported by Scout.com.

Carson's pledge comes just a day after Bullard tight end Major Tennison committed to Texas. He is considered a four-star recruit by Scout, Rivals and 247Sports.

Carson, who stands at 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, also had offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma, SMU, Tennessee, Texas A&M and North Texas. He was recruited by former Gilmer coach Jeff Traylor.

He had a maximum height vertical of 10 feet, 11 inches at this year's ETSN.fm Football Recruiting Combine, where he also ran the 40-yard dash in 5.12 seconds.
