LUFKIN -- Tyler Stubblefield threw three touchdown passes and Josh Tolbert ran for three scores to propel Lufkin to a 55-14 win over Conroe on Friday night at Abe Martin Stadium.

The Panthers (7-3, 5-1) finished in a three-way tie atop the District 14-5A standings in the win, sharing the district title with The Woodlands and A&M Consolidated. Lufkin secured the No. 1 spot in the Division II playoffs.

Stubblefield completed 16 of 21 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns -- two to Jamal Jeffery and the other to Jabryce Taylor. Jeffery finished with four catches for 155 yards and Taylor caught nine balls for 129 yards for the Pack.

Tolbert, who rushed for 87 yards on 15 carries, scored touchdowns on runs of 3, 4 and 13 yards in a 10-minute span in the third and fourth quarters to put the game out of reach.

Lufkin scored 42 points in the middle periods, highlighted by Stubblefield's 11-yard touchdown pass to Taylor and scoring passes of 31 and 60 yards to Jeffery.

Larry Day scored both of Conroe's touchdowns. The running back scored on a 90-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 7 early in the second quarter and caught a 27-yard touchdown pass with 4:18 left in the game for the final score of the night.
