Mikechell Potts + Arp Dominate Crawford, 53-28, to Take Area Round Win
BUFFALO -- Mikechell Potts scored four total touchdowns and Arp's offense dominated the ground game en route to a 53-28 win against Crawford on Friday night in a Class 2A Division II area round playoff matchup.
Arp (9-2) will play either Elysian Fields or Deweyville -- which play Saturday in Lufkin -- in the regional round next week.
Potts scored on touchdown runs of 45 and 80 yards in a game in which he rushed nine times for 140 yards. He added two touchdown catches -- the first a 54-yarder and the second for 20 yards -- in the win.
Michael Roberson scored three times on the ground and Marcalas Johnson also added a touchdown run. Johnson finished with 140 yards rushing for Arp.
Crawford (10-2) took an early 7-6 lead after the first quarter, but consecutive touchdowns from Johnson, Roberson and Potts helped the Tigers take a 26-14 lead at halftime.
