ALTO -- After a one-point season-opening loss to Elkhart, Class A's No. 8 Alto Yellow Jackets bounced back with a 47-27 win Friday night against Groveton.

TYLER -- It was an adventure all night for the John Tyler special teams unit, but Lions fans were treated to a happy ending.

LONGVIEW -- Junior Jobie Ainsworth turned in a career night for the New Diana Eagles in their 50-21 trouncing of the Harleton Wildcats on Saturday night at Lobo Stadium.

FRANKSTON -- Standout tailback Jeffery Wilson had another big game and Elkhart beat Frankston 35-30 on Friday night to move to 2-0 on the season.

PITTSBURG -- Gladewater scored the game's first two touchdowns, but Pittsburg came back, scoring three times in the fourth for a 35-14 home win Friday night.

SHERMAN -- Mitchell DeYong ran for three touchdowns and Sulphur Springs' defense played well in the Wildcats' 34-14 Friday night win at Sherman.
