MARSHALL -- Marshall running back Jacque Kuykendall scored twice on long runs as the Mavericks broke open a close game in the second half, then held off a late Jacksonville scoring opportunity to pick up their first win of the season, 35-28, Friday on homecoming at Maverick Stadium.

JOAQUIN -- Elkhart senior standout Jeffery Wilson had a huge game on the ground and a game-sealing play on defense in the Elks' 34-28 overtime win at Joaquin on Friday night.

HEMPHILL -- After a tough early-season schedule, San Augustine got its first win of the 2013 campaign Friday night in a 35-16 victory at Class 2A Hemphill.

WASKOM -- Waskom built a three-score lead early, fell behind, then scored 43 of the game's final 50 points in a 64-33 home victory against New Diana on Friday night.

HENDERSON -- Chapel Hill started slow, but finished strong Friday night in Henderson.

CANTON -- Junior quarterback Chandler Eiland came back from an injury that kept him out of Canton's last three games to lead the Eagles to a 49-44 win against Wills Point.

CENTER -- East Texas' interceptions leader was at it again Friday night at Roughrider Stadium.
