BRYAN -- Tyler Lee senior linebacker Brandon Durman, a Louisiana Tech signee, was voted to the second team on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A All-State Football Team, which was released Friday.

BRYAN -- Several East Texas athletes were recognized on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 5A All-State Football Team, which was released Thursday.

BRYAN -- It was quite the Wednesday for Gladewater senior defensive tackle Daylon Mack. It began with him signing a national letter of intent with Texas A&M, and continued with the Bears' standout being named the Defensive Player of the Year on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 4A All-State Football Team.

BRYAN -- A little more than a month ago, the Waskom Wildcats celebrated their first-ever state championship. To the victor, go the spoils. Waskom junior linebacker Chan Amie, who won Defensive MVP honors in the Wildcats' 41-22 state title game win over Newton, is the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 3A Defensive Player of the Year.
