BULLARD -- The Bullard Brook Hill Guard remained unbeaten in TAPPS Division II District 2 with a 45-0 shutout of Dallas Shelton on Friday night at Herrington Stadium.

Marshall – After dropping a heartbreaking district 15-5A opener a week ago to Hallsville, the Marshall Mavericks knew they needed to respond in a big way. They did just that. With a trip to Longview looming, the Mavs picked up a key district win against Pine Tree, 55-29, in front of a homecoming crowd at Maverick Stadium.

FRANKSTON -- Twenty-eight seconds into its game against Franktson on Friday night at Jeff and Opal Austin Stadium, No. 9 Waskom led, 7-6. Four minutes and 50 seconds into the District 8-3A Division II contest, the Wildcats were ahead, 14-13. But after 48 minutes of football, the game was nowhere near as close as the first few minutes indicated as Waskom pulled away in the second half for a 63-35 v

CORSICANA -- Jamicah Polk ran for 192 yards and two touchdowns as the Corsicana Tigers beat the Jacksonville Indians 30-14 in District 16-5A action Friday at Tiger Stadium.

TYLER -- Too many Lindale turnovers and too many mistakes turned into too many points for the Eagles to overcome as the John Tyler Lions administered a 76-13 beat down to their District 16-5A rivals Friday night at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

TEXARKANA -- Texas High played its fifth straight game that came down to the wire.

LONGVIEW -- Longview scored on five of its first six possessions Friday night, rolling to a dominant 56-7 win over Greenville to move to 2-0 in District 15-5A action.

TATUM -- Hardin-Jefferson controlled the clock and managed to hold Tatum at arm's length in a 21-14 victory Friday.

LUFKIN -- Friday night's District 16-5A matchup pitting Whitehouse against Lufkin featured a pair of teams in desperation mode, each not wanting to begin their daunting league schedule 0-2.

ENNIS -- The Dragons' unbeaten streak ended Friday in a 57-26 loss at Lion Memorial Stadium in Ennis. Fortunately, the Nacogdoches players will not have to relive their dive to a 1-1 District 16-5A record the next time they meet.
