LONGVIEW -- The Gilmer offense struggled for nearly three quarters Friday night. Fortunately, they had a bit of help. The Black Flag defense rose to the occasion with an impressive performance, as the Buckeyes won their 30th consecutive game, defeating Atlanta 24-15 in the Class 4A Division II, Region II championship game in front of a packed house at Pine Tree’s Pirate Stadium.

LONGVIEW -- Per usual, Waskom running back Chan Amie spearheaded his team's winning effort in the Class 3A Division II, Region II championship game Friday at Longview's Lobo Stadium. He had 124 yards and two touchdowns on his first three carries and finished with 201 rushing yards on just 11 attempts. TYLER -- The Beckville Bearcats were six seconds away from a rematch with a district rival, and a chance to avenge their only loss of the season.  Lovelady had other plans. Lee Holsey heaved a pass into the end zone on the game's final snap that Jacob Jeffus went up and grabbed for the winning score, lifting the Lovelady Lions to a 27-26 victory over Beckville in the Class 2A Division I Region II

BEAUMONT -- The Navasota Rattlers had not lost a football game in more than two years. When it came time Friday night for their streak to end, a familiar face stood on the other sideline: the Carthage Bulldogs. Behind a 28-point second-half outburst that helped Carthage erase a 14-point third-quarter deficit, the Bulldogs delivered the knockout blow to Navasota's 28-game winning streak and hopes
