TYLER -- John Tyler clinched at least a share of the District 16-5A crown Saturday as part of a 57-21 win against Jacksonville at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. More importantly, it secured the top Division I playoff berth from the league and will face the weaker of two Division I teams from the adjacent District 15-5A in two week's time.

ROCKWALL -- Tyler Lee was completely zapped of energy at the break. The team walked off the field while Rockwall sprinted off to its own locker room in celebration. Unless the Red Raiders could score, at minimum, 37 points in the second half, it was over. And there were no miracles Saturday at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium in the Metroplex.

Kordell Rodgers threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns while running for 104 yards and a touchdown as the Panthers rolled to a 38-10 win against the Corsicana Tigers at John Outlaw Memorial FIeld at Abe Mart

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Jaylon Redwine made just one catch Friday night, but it was a big one. Redwine hauled in a 30-yard touchdown pass from Konnor Hitchcock with 58 seconds remaining, and Austyn Fendrick’s ensuing extra point gave Chapel Hill a come-from-behind 28-27 victory over the Henderson Lions, propelling the Bulldogs to the inside track for the fourth and final playoff spot from District 9-4

PRINCETON -- Pittsburg lost the turnover battle. The team also committed 16 penalties for 174 yards. But the Pirates won Thursday's potentially season-changing District 7-4A Division I game against Princeton, 49-39, at Jackie Hendrix Stadium. And now a second-place finish in the league looks like a sure thing. Winning the district championship isn't out of the question, either.
