SHREVEPORT, La. -- People know about Bryson Smith and Damion Miller. People came out to Shreveport, La., to see them Saturday. They delivered in John Tyler's easy 41-6 win against New Orleans Warren Easton as part of the Battle on the Border showcase at the 63,000-seat Independence Stadium, particularly Smith with three touchdown passes and 270 total yards.

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Tatum built a 13-point lead at halftime and escaped Chapel Hill with a 20-7 win Friday. Adrian Minor made it interesting for the Bulldogs (1-2) on a 2-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, but Cedric White broke away for a 71-yard score in the final minutes to elevate Tatum to 2-1 overall.

TYLER -- Waskom's losing skid hit two games Friday after accomplishing a 32-game winning streak from Week 2 of the 2014 season through Week 1 of the current season. Tyler Grace Community did the disservice in a 52-20 win at Clyde-Perkins Stadium in Tyler.

EUSTACE -- The Eustace Bulldogs remained unbeaten on the season with a 42-0 rout of Palmer on Friday night. Two Eustace (3-0) ball carriers eclipsed the 100-yard mark. Alejandro Sanchez ran for a team-best 106 yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries, while Clifton Johnson carried 11 times for 101 yards and two scores...

JACKSONVILLE -- Indians quarterback Cam High threw two touchdown passes and ran in another score Friday in Jacksonville's 28-13 win against Hallsville at the Tomato Bowl. High's scores gave the Indians (2-1) a 21-6 edge into the fourth quarter. His defense never gave up a touchdown.

ARGYLE -- Aaron "Poppy" Brown passed for three touchdowns, leading No. 4 Gilmer to a 61-19 rout of Argyle Liberty Christian on Friday night. The Buckeyes (3-0) have now scored 192 points in their first three games of the season. Brown completed 14 of 25 passes for 196 yards, tossing touchdowns to Oklahoma State commit LaMarcus Morton, Ryen Lawhorn, and Desmond Jones...

LONGVIEW -- Heath Hood passed for 396 yards and accounted for six touchdowns, leading White Oak to a 56-8 blowout of rival Spring Hill on Friday night at Panther Stadium. White Oak (3-0) held a massive edge in total yardage on Spring Hill (2-1)...

PALESTINE – Palestine is making a case for the most improved football team in East Texas. Led by a defense that picked off five passes, Palestine pulled away from Fairfield 27-10 in a non-district game Friday at Wildcat Stadium.

LONGVIEW -- Can the Kilgore Bulldogs turn back the clock and recapture the regular-season magic they had a year ago? They're off to a good start. Kilgore picked up its first win of its season Friday in Longview, blasting Pine Tree, 46-13.
