MABANK -- The Athens Hornets opened up the District 8-4A Division I schedule with a dominating win over the Mabank Panthers, 41-14, on Friday at Panther Stadium.
TATUM -- LeMarcus Harmon scored touchdowns on offense and defense, and Tatum scored 28 consecutive points in a 49-21 win over Pittsburg on Friday night in non-district action.
LONGVIEW -- Ryan Humphries threw for 326 yards and five touchdowns to lead Sulphur Springs from an early deficit to beat Pine Tree, 49-21, in both teams' District 16-5A opener on Friday night.
KILGORE – Kilgore outscored Palestine by 11 points in the second half to pull away for a 33-20 win on Friday in the District 9-4A Division I opener for both teams at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.
MARSHALL -- Texas High remained unbeaten in the 2016 season, rallying from an early 18-point deficit to beat Marshall, 36-18, in the District 16-5A opener on Friday night.
WHITEHOUSE -- Tanner Roach returned to the starting lineup after missing a game with an injury to throw a pair of touchdowns and lead Whitehouse to a 34-21 win over Kennedale in non-district football action Friday night at Wildcat Stadium.
LINDALE – The Gladewater Bears traveled to Eagle Stadium Friday night and unfortunately for Lindale, they brought a devastating running attack which accounted for four of the Bears’ touchdowns in a 38-10 rout of the Eagles.
After four straight losses to start the season, the College Park Cavaliers headed to John Outlaw Memorial Field at Abe Martin Stadium looking for a fresh start. Instead all they found was an unstoppable Kordell Rodgers.
