SALTILLO -- There was no bigger winner than Bullard's girls basketball team Thursday as a busy weekend of tournament across the East Texas region began.
The Lady Panthers opened their time at the Saltillo Tournament with a 68-46 win against fellow Class 4A opponent Paris North Lamar and earned a 73-20 victory over Bogata Rivercrest from Class 2A later in the day.
Ever since Alto dropped to the state's smallest 11-man classification, the Yellowjackets have had a stranglehold on their district competition.
In head coach Paul Gould's three seasons in charge, Alto sports a 31-6 overall record.
