East Texas Players On TABC All-Region Teams (* -- indicates all-state selection)

BRYAN -- Four East Texas players earned first-team spots on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-State Football Team, which was released Monday.

TYLER -- Judah Bell had a fantastic night for Bishop Gorman with 29 points, but Tyler Grace Community was able to hold the rest of the Crusaders team to nine total points en route to a 56-38 win in TAPPS District 2-4A. Several East Texas players were honored on the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors Class 2A all-state high school football team, which was released Sunday night.

The Tenaha Tigers topped the ETSN.fm East Texas Class 2A/Private Schools preseason poll, and played like it last Friday, remaining in the top spot following a 39-8 drubbing of Joaquin.

Tenaha has lost seven games since winning the Class A Division II state championship in 2011, but none of them have come in district.

BIG SANDY -- The second-ranked Carlisle Indians remained unbeaten in District 20-A play behind a six-inning perfect game thrown by Zach Brightwell.
