Robert Strickland is the first to admit he ruffled some feathers early into his first year as Overton's head football coach.

GILMER -- The Lady Buckeyes clinched the District 15-4A district championship and a top seed in the Class 4A playoffs Tuesday with a 25-21, 25-10, 25-21 win against Bullard. The Lady Panthers, who have only dropped district games to Gilmer, would have tied for the district lead if they had won the contest. That would have forced a true district championship game next week.

ARP -- Jordan Tauscher continued her impressive early season debut for Tyler Grace Community with a team-best 25 points in a 66-42 win at Arp.

QUITMAN -- The Lady Bulldogs spoiled Alba-Golden's quest for perfection within District 14-3A with a five-set win Friday. The match score was 27-25, 16-25, 25-21, 15-25, 15-8.

HENDERSON -- Carthage moved to 5-0 in District 19-4A competition with a 25-14, 26-24, 23-25, 25-19 win against Henderson. Kenzie Templeton led offensive production. She recorded 39 assists.

HARMONY -- The Alba-Golden Lady Panthers remained perfect in District 14-3A play with a 25-22, 25-15, 25-20 sweep of Harmony on Tuesday night.
