TEXARKANA -- Kody Hunter passed for 127 yards and a touchdown to lead Texas High past Marshall, 20-6, Friday night in District 14-4A action.

Hunter was 14-of-16 on the evening, tossing an 11-yard touchdown pass to Taylor Jackson, which put Texas High (3-5, 2-2) up 13-0 in the second quarter.

The win keeps Texas High alive for a playoff spot. The winner of next week's game between the Tigers and Hallsville will reach the playoffs.

Javon Thomas rushed for 90 yards and two touchdowns in the Tigers' victory, scoring on two 9-yard runs.

The Texas High defense limited Marshall (1-8, 1-3) to 189 yards of total offense. John Love scored the Mavericks' lone touchdown on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Marshall closes out the regular season at home next Friday against Sulphur Springs.
