LUFKIN -- Trey Cumbie threw for 260 yards and four touchdowns -- mostly in the first half -- as the Lufkin Panthers beat the Jacksonville Indians, 51-6, in the District 16-5A regular-season finale at Abe Martin Stadium.

Receiver Trey Mark caught five passes for 110 yards and a touchdown, followed by KeKe Coutee, who caught four for 62 yards and two touchdowns.

Playoff-bound Lufkin (6-4, 4-3) scored on its first four possessions en route to a 27-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Jacksonville (4-6, 1-6) got on the board when running back Datavion Thacker scored on a 40-yard touchdown run en route to a 114-yard night on 16 carries.

Indians punter Jorge Rios was called on nine times and averaged 30 yards per punt attempt.

Lufkin took the short opening kickoff and drove 46 yards in six plays, capped by Cumbie's 2-yard touchdown pass to Coutee.

Panthers running back Steven Sowell capped a 4-play, 40-yard drive on Lufkin's next possession with a 12-yard touchdown run as part of a 10-carry, 79-yard night.

Cumbie added a 37-yard touchdown pass to Demearra Houston and a 43-yard touchdown pass to Mark on the Panthers' next two possessions.
