TEXARKANA -- The Texas High Lady Tigers rebounded from a 15-point, third-quarter deficit to knock off District 15-5A leading Longview, 73-67, Tuesday night.

Texas High (15-7, 4-2) got a game-high 23 points and seven rebounds from freshman Antonia Porter to lead the way.

Longview (13-9, 4-2) held a 46-31 lead in the third quarter before Texas High closed the period on an 11-0 run and added an 8-0 spurt in the fourth to help complete the comeback.

Mia Wilson added 17 points, while Grace Brooks contributed 13 points and seven boards, and Blaire Bledsoe chipped in with 10 points for Texas High.

Longview was paced in defeat by Aisja Gray's 18 points. Chandler Peoples and Nyelan Powell had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Both teams return to action Friday night. Texas High travels to Marshall, while Longview plays host to Mount Pleasant.

 

Chapel Hill Blows Past Kilgore

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- The No, 23 Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs earned a convincing 53-29 win over Kilgore in District 16-4A action Tuesday.

Mykaela Alfred led Chapel Hill (18-6, 2-0) with 16 points, while Daija Maddox added 14 points.

Kilgore (0-2 in district) was led by Marshala Lollie, who finished with 12 points.

Chapel Hill plays at Gilmer, while Kilgore entertains Gladewater on Friday.

 

Winona Too Much For Mineola

MINEOLA -- The Winona Ladycats rolled to a 55-34 rout of Mineola on Tuesday in District 14-3A competition.

Randaysha Hanson led the way for Winona (4-2 in district) with 19 points to go along with three steals. Nichole Garrett added 10 points and three steals, while Makayla Champion had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Winona returns to action Friday at home against Alba-Golden.

 

Martinsville Overpowers Beckville

MARTINSVILLE -- The Martinsville Lady Pirates cruised past Beckville, 63-28, in District 22-2A action Tuesday.

Brooke Scarborough paced Martinsville with 28 points, while Karlee Burnaman added 14 points.

Madi Mize, Chelcie Pierce, Ashley Cook, and Jordan Tondreau all had six points for Beckville.

Madisonville plays at Timpson, while Beckville hosts Joaquin on Friday.

 

Tyler Grace Rips Dallas Shelton

TYLER -- The Tyler Grace Lady Cougars scored a 67-37 win over Dallas Shelton in TAPPS District 2-4A action Tuesday night.

Parker Daughtry and Addie Daughtry each scored 16 points to power Grace (17-6, 2-1). Hannah Wright chipped in with 10 points.

Dallas Shelton fell to 12-4 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Grace returns to the court Friday at Dallas Christian.

Whitehouse Takes Down Nacogdoches

WHITEHOUSE -- The Whitehouse Wildcats evened their District 16-5A record with a 48-31 win over Nacogdoches on Tuesday.

Ryan Walls led a balanced scoring effort for Whitehouse (16-6, 2-2) with 11 points. Colby Duhon finished with nine points, and nine Wildcats registered at least one point on the night.

Whitehouse is back in action next Tuesday (Jan. 19) at home against Corsicana.

 

Rusk Handles Huntington

RUSK -- The Rusk Eagles closed out non-district play with a 78-23 thumping of Huntington on Tuesday.

Isiah Francis sparked the Rusk (16-6) attack with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Jacquez Cook and PJ Tilley added 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Rusk begins District 19-4A action Friday at home against Henderson.
