Undefeated Malakoff Still the Favorite to Win 7-2A D-I, But Which Teams Will Join Tigers in Playoffs?
Before the season began, ETSN.fm chose Malakoff to win District 7-2A Division I. And through four weeks, the Tigers are making us look pretty smart.
Malakoff (4-0) has blown out all four of its opponents, outscoring them a combined 225-53. The Tigers dealt with several injuries throughout the course of the 2012 season, cutting short what head coach Jamie Driskell believed would be a special year.
Better late than never.
The next three teams in the district standings -- Lone Oak (3-1), Eustace (2-2) and defending league champion Winnsboro (2-2) -- should all feel rather comfortable about their chances of reaching the playoffs. The remaining three teams in the district are a combined 0-12.
