TYLER -- After coming off a loss to District 16-3A's Spring Hill last week, Bullard Brook Hill Guard responded to adversity as they defeated T.K. Gorman, 62-28, on Friday at McCallum Stadium.

Brook Hill quarterback Will Weathers accounted for six total touchdowns in the win -- three rushing and three passing. Weathers carried the ball six times for 86 yards and three touchdowns, while also completing 8 of 9 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns.

Brook Hill started off strong as it took the lead early when Bailey Franklin recovered a T.K. Gorman fumble on the Crusaders’ 12 yard line with 10:05 left in the first quarter. This set up Weathers with an easy 12-yard touchdown run and increased the Brook Hill lead 14-0.

After a long but unsuccessful drive by T.K. Gorman, the Crusaders turned the ball over on downs at the Brook Hill 25-yard line. Brook Hill had the ball only two plays before it fumbled on its own 35-yard line. Cartrell Freeman recovered the fumble for the Crusaders. This set up a pass from wide receiver Cale Tucker to Connor Hobbs for a 20-yard touchdown.

With 13 seconds left in the first half, Weathers connected with Michael Greening for a 10-yard Brook Hill touchdown and a commanding 35-14 lead going into intermission.

T.K. Gorman struck first in the second half to cut into Brook Hill’s lead. Dominic Jasso picked up a Guard fumble at the Brook Hill 26-yard line, which led to Tristan Saint finding Hobbs on a fade route in the corner of the end zone to make the score 35-20.

Brook Hill responded back on five play drive, where it racked up four first downs, capped by Weathers' 15-yard touchdown run. After what looked to be a promising drive for T.K. Gorman, Austin Halloran intercepted Saint, crushing a potential 14-play series with 10:19 left in the ballgame.

Fueled by Halloran’s interception, Brook Hill took advantage, as Weathers hit Seth Brasher for a 55-yard bomb, elevating Brook Hill’s lead to48-20.

Despite a 65-yard touchdown run by Taylor Hurst with 2:10 left in the game and a completed two point conversion, T.K Gorman was unable to overcome the Brook Hill advantage.

Saint finished 13 of 31 passing for 161 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for T.K. Gorman.
