ETSN.fm Class 2A/Private Schools Poll: No. 6, Union Grove Lions
There's not much doubt here in the preseason Union Grove will contest for the District 10-2A Division I crown.
Sixteen returning starters and head coach Roger Adams' track record at a historically downtrodden school will put those kinds of expectations on a program. We think the Lions are in for a pretty good season, so they will begin the year ranked sixth in the Class 2A/Private Schools poll.

ETSN.fm Class 2A/Private Schools Poll: No. 7, Bullard Brook Hill Guard
The Guard made a decent turnaround last season under head coach Scott Ryle and the team is tied for the most returning starters with Tyler Bishop Gorman among the four TAPPS Division II, District 2 squads that made the postseason in 2016.
Those factors could be big this season.
To 25 Games Of 2017: No. 18, Hallsville At Pine Tree
Let's be honest. District 16-5A was not very strong last season.
We think that's going to change this year with all the coaching transitions the past two years and a more defined set of middle-tier teams.
ETSN.fm Class 2A/Private Schools Poll: No. 8, Tyler Bishop Gorman Crusaders
The Crusaders could be in for an interesting season with Randy McFarlin replacing head coach Coby Gipson and the loss of star receiver Judah Bell to SMU.
Interesting certainly does not mean bad. We're picking Tyler Bishop Gorman eighth in our preseason Class 2A/Private Schools poll.
2017 Football Preview: Linden-Kildare + Simms Bowie In Thick Of 9-2A D-I Playoff Race
This district had its struggles when postseason play began last year. In fact, none of the four playoff-bound teams made it to the area round.
District 9-2A Division I is still probably the weakest of four Region III districts, but the top finishers from the league might finally be in position to make some noise in November

ETSN.fm Class 2A/Private Schools Poll: No. 9, Tyler Grace Cougars
The 2016 season was a banner year for Tyler Grace Community.
Will the program keep on keeping on with semi-new quarterback Brayden Stone or are the Cougars going to slip back a bit without star quarterback Christopher Wilhelmi and a handful of other recognized players from last year's state quarterfinalist? That's the big question in Tyler and for TAPPS Division II, District 2 at large.
2017 Football Preview: Big Sandy + Union Grove Lead 10-2A D-I Pack
There are consistently great programs across the state, but very few are honestly competing for the state championship year after year. Even then, the dominant programs of today have a tendency to drop back toward the chasing pack over time.
You know why?
Supporting a school means you're ultimately going to have to say goodbye to the athletes that put you on the map. Graduation changes the high sc
Top 25 Games Of 2017: No. 20, Gladewater At Pleasant Grove
Every game is important in District 7-4A Division II, but the regular season finale between Gladewater and Pleasant Grove has the potential to decide who goes on to the playoffs and who stays home.
It's what we think will be the 20th-best game as we count down the top 25 games of the 2017 regular season.
ETSN.fm Class 2A/Private Schools Preseason Poll: No. 10, Overton Mustangs
Richard Strickland gave Overton its first winning season since 2012 his first year on the job. What will he do for an encore?
We think the Mustangs have a real shot to become one of East Texas' premier Class 2A Division II programs as early as this season. They'll begin the campaign ranked 10th in our Class 2A/Private Schools Poll.
2017 Football Preview: Explosive Groveton + Experienced West Sabine Hope To Surprise Once Again In 12-2A D-I
Groveton and West Sabine both made the playoffs last season, but it was Centerville that made the most of its extra weeks en route to a state semifinal berth.
With a small majority of starters back, Centerville is looking pretty good here in the preseason.
