TYLER -- Hannah Brantley doesn't have much left to prove at Texas High as the top goal scorer in school history and as a standout golfer.
But she keeps delivering.
Brantley recorded three assists and a goal in the Lady Tigers' 4-0 Class 5A bi-district soccer playoff round win against John Tyler at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
The following are bi-district playoff soccer results for East Texas teams.
TYLER -- Two of the finest competitors in Friday's Class 5A bi-district playoff game could see the glory awaiting them if they could make just a few more saves.
There's no room for fear in soccer's last resort tiebreaker, but they also entered penalty kicks assured of the despair that would be theirs if they couldn't beat the single most compromising situation a goalkeeper can face.
Jacksonville edged Pine Tree 4-2 in penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw through 80 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of extra time at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
TYLER -- It's been a while since the Lufkin Panthers have tasted defeat, and it was easy to see why in Thursday night's playoff opener against Longview.
Lufkin's size, speed, and skill were all on display in a 3-1 victory over the Lobos in their Class 5A Region II bi-district match at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium -- the Panthers' 20 consecutive victory.
TYLER -- The Lufkin Lady Panthers sailed into the soccer playoffs on the heels of an undefeated run through District 16-5A. But Thursday's bi-district counterpart Pine Tree, the fourth seed from 15-5A, was not going to lay down.
Despite carrying a much quicker offensive attack, Lufkin had to scratch and claw to run its winning streak to 13 matches with a 2-1 first-round postseason victory at Trinity Mother Frances Stadium.
WHITEHOUSE -- Tatum's boys were not a happy group in the first minutes after a 1-0 loss to Mabank in the Class 4A bi-district playoff round.
The Eagles played the Panthers tight for 66 full minutes at Whitehouse's Wildcat Stadium, but freshman midfielder Jacob Gonzales got the winning touch in high traffic and volleyed a bouncing ball into the goal's top right corner with 13:18 remaining.
LONGVIEW -- The Tatum Eagles nailed down the third seed from District 16-4A with a 3-0 shutout of Spring Hill in the regular-season finale for both teams Tuesday night.
