NACOGDOCHES -- Whenever the subject of Whitehouse football is brought up, standout quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Wildcats offense is usually the conversation-starter.

KILGORE -- Third-ranked Kilgore built a 19-point lead through three quarters thanks to a strong rushing attack, then withstood a late Chapel Hill rally for a 42-25 District 16-3A victory Friday night at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

TATUM -- Jaylen Shans ran for three touchdowns and J.D. Taylor totaled three more to lift Tatum to a 49-14 rout of Sabine on Friday night in a District 9-2A Division I matchup at Eagle Stadium.

MESQUITE -- Longview used a 27-point second quarter to get ahead and stay ahead to beat Mesquite, 37-22, on Friday night in District 12-5A action at Memorial Stadium.

MOUNT PLEASANT—It took Texas High a little more than a quarter to shake off the effects of last week's gigantic win over Sulphur Springs, but once the Tigers did, they took command against Mount Pleasant the same way they had in their first two District 14-4A games.

JACKSONVILLE -- Geovari McCollister ran for 172 yards and two touchdowns and threw for another touchdown as the John Tyler Lions held off the Jacksonville Indians, 43-30 Friday night in District 16-4A action at the Tomato Bowl.

TYLER – Marquiston Williams caught a 41-yard touchdown pass from Raleigh Poster with 31 seconds left to give Tyler Lee the lead and Bryce Wilkerson knocked down a Hail Mary pass as time expired to give the Red Raiders a 61-54 victory against Mesquite on Friday night at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

ATHENS – The Athens Hornets clinched a playoff spot in District 15-3A with a 56-14 win over the Mabank Panthers on Homecoming Night at Bruce Field.

SULPHUR SPRINGS -- A lopsided road loss last week to District 14-4A leader Texas High gave Sulphur Springs coach Greg Owens and his Wildcats their first district loss. On Friday night, they faced another tough game against the Hallsville Bobcats, who came into the game 2-0 in the district.

WHITE OAK --  Following pregame festivities to crown White Oak’s football sweetheart, the Roughnecks were a bit slow getting onto the field.
