BULLARD -- Bullard Brook Hill scored on the ground, through the air, and on defense to beat Cedar Hill Trinity Christian 47-27 in Friday night's TAPPS Division II District 2 matchup at Herrington Stadium.

Brook Hill running back Gabe Lucio had a huge night, rushing 30 times for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Grant Hanks completed 14 of 21 passes for 134 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while rushing nine times for 53 yards and two scores.

Brook Hill receiver Seth Brasher snagged four passes for 78 yards and a touchdown, while running back Tyrone Brown carried five times for 32 yards and a touchdown.

Alex Hale and Jacob Dumesnil led the Guard's defensive effort with two interceptions apiece. With Brook Hill (4-2, 3-0) leading 40-27 in the fourth quarter, Hale delivered the knockout blow, returning a pick 81 yards for a touchdown and a three-score advantage. The defensive touchdown capped a 21-7 second-half edge for the Guard.

Four first-half rushing touchdowns -- two from Hanks, two from Lucio -- staked Brook Hill to a 26-20 halftime lead. Hanks then found Brasher on a 35-yard touchdown before Brown scored from one yard late in third quarter, setting up Hale's icing-on-the-cake interception return touchdown in the fourth.

Brook Hill travels to Dallas Christian on Friday.
