Center Beats Fairfield, 42-28, to Set Up Showdown With No. 2 Gilmer

LONGVIEW -- Center scored on five touchdown runs of at least 39 yards en route to a 42-28 win over Fairfield on Friday night in a Class 3A Division II area-round playoff.

The Roughriders (10-2) move on to face second-ranked and unbeaten Gilmer (12-0) at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium in Tyler. Gilmer routed Mexia, 63-14, on Friday night.

Center scored on touchdown runs of 68, 47, 67, 72 and 39 yards in the win.

Fairfield ended its season at 9-3.
