Elkhart Finishes Regular Season With 4-0 Shutout Of Trinity

ELKHART -- The eighth-ranked Elkhart Lady Elks concluded a perfect run through District 21-3A with a 4-0 shutout of Trinity in the regular-season finale Saturday.

Camryn Rucker did the damage in the circle, allowing just one hit with 13 strikeouts in seven shutout innings.

Robin Grant had a hit and two RBIs to lead the Lady Elks at the plate. Preslye Cox went 2-for-3, while Allie Hays (RBI double), Tiffany Rosas, Molly Ormand, Megan Davis, and Shyenne Heuer all collected hits in the win.

Elkhart (24-1, 14-0) will meet the winner of Monday's district playoff between Nacogdoches Central Heights and Hemphill next week in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

Before that, though, Elkhart faces Cushing at home at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a warm-up game.
