GLADEWATER -- The Gladewater Bears hung 63 first-half points on Pittsburg, and cruised to a 77-14 rout of the Pirates on Friday night at Jack V. Murphy Stadium.

Gladewater (2-0), which rolled up nearly 300 yards on the ground in the opening half, raced out to a 21-0 lead in the first seven minutes of the first quarter.

Nick Canaguier connected with Caleb Williams for a 20-yard touchdown, Camron Callaway scored on a 30-yard touchdown run, and Darnell McKnight had a 36-yard scoring burst that set the tone for the Bears' dominating effort.

Both Pittsburg (0-2) touchdowns were scored by quarterback Billy Kimble.

Gladewater is back in action next Friday night against St. Thomas More of Lafayette, La., as part of the annual Battle on the Border in Shreveport. Pittsburg, meanwhile, will try to collect its first win next Friday at New Boston.
