John Tyler’s Ashtyn Beal Named MVP on Girls 16-4A All-District Basketball Team

District champion John Tyler was honored with three superlatives on the girls 16-4A all-district basketball team, which was voted on by the league's coaches.

Lady Lions sophomore Ashtyn Beal was voted the district's Most Valuable Player, junior Amia Wickware was selected Defensive MVP and Mike Smith was awarded Coach of the Year honors.

Other superlatives went to Lindale senior Natasha Malone (Offensive MVP) and Lindale sophomore McKenna Cox (Newcomer of the Year).
