MARSHALL – Kendravian White hit paydirt four times as the Longview Lobos thumped Marshall, 56-7, on Friday night at Maverick Stadium.

The Lobos win comes a year after the Mavericks (0-2) ended a 14-game win streak in favor of Longview on the same turf.

White had scoring runs of 24, 11, 4, and 2 yards as the Lobos (1-1) rushed for 300-plus yards in the win. Longview built a 21-0 lead after the first quarter and took a 42-7 lead into intermission.

Longview’s D’Crayvan Polk totaled 70 yards on the ground, scoring on a 1-yard run. Quarterback Gaylon Wiley threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Eric Timberlake. Jaquan Edwards rounded out the Lobos offense with a 1-yard, fourth-quarter score.

The Lobos defense had a hand in the scoring outburst as well with Jason Bush taking a loose Marshall ball 10 yards to the house. Marshall finished with three turnovers, all resulting in Lobo touchdowns. Jephaniah Lister pulled down an interception that set up Polk’s touchdown and the Lobos defense scooped a fumble that resulted in Wiley’s touchdown pass.

Marshall, which fell to Tyler Lee in its opener, totaled 215 yards total, led by senior running back and Texas A&M baseball commit Cam Haller, who had 145 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown for the Mavericks’ lone score.

White had three rushing touchdowns before the Mavericks got on the board midway through the second quarter. His fourth touchdown sent Longview into the visitor’s locker room up 42-7.

Marshall travels to Monroe Ouachita Parish (La.), while the Lobos host Dallas South Oak Cliff next Friday night.
