DALLAS -- After a back-and-forth first quarter in Saturday's Class 5A Division II Region II area playoff between Longview and Dallas Jesuit, the Lobos dominated.

Longview ran for more than 450 yards powered by 240 first-half yards from senior Tory White to rout Dallas Jesuit 57-25 at Wildcat-Ram Stadium.

Longview (9-3) plays Austin Westlake (8-4) at 4 p.m. Saturday in Midlothian in a 5A Division II Region II semifinal.

Longview ran 49 times for 457 yards led by White's 240 yards and three touchdowns, which came on 12 first-half carries. The 32-point win came at a price, though, as White left the game late in the second quarter with an injury and did not return.

Longview's speed was a factor the entire game, especially once the offensive line sprung ball carriers to the second level, where Jesuit struggled to make tackles in the open field. White ran for a 99-yard touchdown late in the first quarter, and that was a sign of things to come.

"I thought (speed) was a big factor. The offensive line played well and the running backs did a good job getting yards after contact," said Longview coach John King. "The speed helped Tory break the big 99-yard run, and I think that kinda broke their back. They don't see our style of football too often. We were able to do some things we hoped we could do and do them effectively all night."

Sophomore J'Mycal Hasty picked up where White left off, running 16 times for 102 yards and a touchdown. Hasty had 73 yards and his two-yard third-quarter touchdown on 10 second-half carries. Senior fullback Antonius Sanders had eight carries for 63 yards, capped by his 27-yard touchdown run that gave Longview a 51-25 lead with 7:52 remaining in the game.

After falling behind 19-14 early in the second on the first of Texas-bound Jesuit receiver Jake Oliver's two touchdown catches, Longview scored 30 unanswered points for a 44-19 advantage five minutes into second half. During the final 10 1/2 minutes of the second quarter, Longview garnered a 24-6 advantage in in offensive plays (excluding two Jesuit punts) and outgained the Rangers 174-8 in that span.

That led to 17 consecutive points and a 31-19 halftime lead thanks to sophomore QB Dezmond Chumley's three-yard TD strike to junior Dorian Leonard, White's 37-yard touchdown run, and Andres Perez' 31-yard field goal.

Longview outgained Jesuit 563-340. Oliver caught 13 passes for 175 yards, while QB Jack Brezette completed 20 of 42 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns.

Longview did not allow Brezette to get comfortable in the pocket. Senior defensive end Tre Allen had the Lobos' only sack -- his 11th in seven games -- but the Lobos pressured Brezette most of the night, despite losing senior end Jalen Porter in the second quarter.

Like White, Porter did not return, but junior DeRoderick Alexander stepped in and joined Allen, senior tackle Cornelius Williams, junior tackle Zaycoven Henderson, and the rest of the Longview defensive front to impact the game.

"DeRoderick came in and played pretty well," King said. "We mixed up some four-man stuff and three-man line. I thought we did a good job of pressuring the quarterback. We had some batted balls and put some pressure on him and didn't let him get comfortable."

Henderson batted down two passes, while Alexander knocked down one. Sophomore Jaylon Jackson batted one down on a two-point attempt. Williams and senior linebacker DeMarkus Lathan had a tackle for loss apiece.

Longview forced three consecutive three-and-outs during the second and third quarters to spark the 30-point run that changed the game.

Longview senior Damion Russell capped the Lobos' big rushing night with a one-yard touchdown with less than a minute remaining. Russell carried seven times in the second half for 45 yards.

Sophomore QB Dezmond Chumley completed 6 of 13 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns, the second of which was a 23-yard touchdown strike to senior tight end Colin Jeter to cap the 30-point spurt for a 44-19 third-quarter lead. Senior receiver Justinn Spady caught three passes for 55 yards.
