Longview Running Game Propels Lobos to 35-14 Win Over Texas High

LONGVIEW — Longview rolled up 367 yards of total offense — 262 on the ground — and knocked Texas High from the 15-5A unbeatens with a 35-14 victory Friday at Lobo Stadium.

D'Crayvan Polk rushed for a pair of scores and 146 yards, and Lobos quarterback Michael Ross threw a score and ran for another. Kendrevian White also had a late TD run, sandwiched between a pair of Tiger TD passes.

Cade Pearson threw for 274 yards and both scores on 23-of-37 passing.

Jaylen Rhone caught seven balls for the Tigers for 125 yards and had a 58-yard scoring grab. Tevailance Hunt scored with just under four minutes left to play on a 34-yard strike when he juked the defender after making the catch.

Texas High running back JaKardi Witcher was held under 100 yards for the first time, finishing with 12 carries for 35 yards, just 10 shy of 1,000 on the season.

Two Texas High turnovers in the first half led to 14 Longview points. The Lobos fumbled the ball on the third play of the game, but the Tigers fumbled at the 1-yard line going in.

Longview marched 99 yards in 11 plays, with Ross connecting with Jordan Wyatt for a 9-yard score to finish off the drive. Jon Swift had the early fumble recovery for Texas High, and Ja'Quavion Faggans had the recovery for the Lobos.

The Tiger again pushed into Longview territory, but a tipped pass landed in Lobo cornerback Ameron Dean's hands for an interception. Four plays later, Polk raced 42 yards to paydirt.

Polk scored his second TD on the Lobos' next possession on a 10-yard rush, finishing off a 4-play, 62-yard drive.
