MARSHALL -- The Marshall Mavericks rebounded from their first setback of the season with a dominating 54-0 shutout of Mount Pleasant on Friday night at Maverick Stadium.

Marshall (8-1, 5-1) kept pace with Longview and Texas High at the top of the District 15-5A standings with one week remaining in the season. The Mavs conclude at Sulphur Springs next Friday night.

Cam Haller led Marshall's 489-yard offensive outburst with 167 total yards and four touchdowns. He completed 3 of 6 passing attempts for 59 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown to Jaquavian Dabbs as time expired in the opening half. The talented junior added 108 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries.

Chavis Mills paced the Mavs' 426-yard rushing assault with 143 yards and two touchdown on only eight attempts. He scored on runs of 43 and 44 yards.

Tre Macon returned an interception 22 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter, while Trevor Clark scored on 23-yard run in the fourth to put a cap on a dominant performance.

Mount Pleasant (2-7, 2-4), which finishes the season next Friday at home against Texas HIgh, was led by running back Travion Holloman's 152 rushing yards on 27 carries.
