Two weeks, two Division I offers for Nacogdoches' Alex Gregory. A few days after receiving a scholarship opportunity from McNeese State, the 2016 receiver added an offer from SFA on Tuesday.

Gregory (5-11, 175), a two-sport standout in both football and track and field, tweeted the news Tuesday afternoon.

Both offers have come late in the spring evaluation period, which means more could be on the way for Gregory this summer. He recently competed at the third annual ETSN.fm + APEC Football Recruiting Combine in Tyler, where he tested well.

Gregory logged a laser-timed 4.52 40-yard dash, which was second among the 24 receivers who competed at the event and tied for third-fastest among the 113 total participants. He also had strong numbers in the broad jump (114 inches) and vertical jump (34.3 inches).

The Dragons’ athlete was also a regional track performer in the 200 meter dash.

SFA, which is located in Gregory's hometown of Nacogdoches, in an FCS program that competes in the Southland Conference, along with McNeese State. The Lumberjacks are coached by Clint Conque, and finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 8-5 with a 5-3 mark in conference.

The Lumberjacks were defeated, 44-10, by Northern Iowa in the first round of the FCS playoffs on Nov. 29.

Gregory finished third on the team in receptions and receiving yards as a junior. He helped lead the Dragons to a 7-4 record and back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since 1965-66.

Nacogdoches competes in District 16-5A and will open the 2015 season Aug. 28 at Kilgore.
