HUNTINGTON -- Senior quarterback Blake Bogenschutz threw five touchdown passes to lead sixth-ranked Carthage to a 55-6 District 20-3A-opening rout at Huntington on Friday night.

JEFFERSON -- The Jefferson Bulldogs jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead in their district 9-2A Division I opener and looked to be in control of the game.

COLLEGE STATION — The Jasper Bulldogs moved the ball at will in the first half in building a 21-0 lead, but had to hang on for a 21-16 victory over College Station on Friday at Cougar Stadium.

LONGVIEW -- Chapel Hill relied on a solid passing game Friday night as senior quarterback Andrew Black threw five touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Spring Hill at Panther Stadium.

TATUM -- A 14-point second-quarter hole wasn't enough to contain Tatum's ground game in Friday night's matchup of unbeaten teams.

PARIS -- Paris sophomore quarterback Quez Allen and sophomore running back Dren Rollerson led the Wildcats to a 41-20 victory over the Atlanta Rabbits on Friday night in the District 13-3A opener for both teams.

CANTON -- The Athens Hornets continued their winning ways with a 50-26 victory over the Canton Eagles Friday night at Norris Birdwell Stadium.

TYLER -- The John Tyler Lions turned a close game at halftime into a blowout in the third quarter en route to a 51-22 victory against Corsicana in the District 16-4A opener for both teams Friday at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

ROCKWALL -- Longview's offense barely broke a sweat Friday night. The Lobos used their special teams and defense to make all the difference.

LONGVIEW — In a case of an irresistible force meeting an immovable object, the latter won out in Texas High's District 14-4A opener against Pine Tree Friday night at Pirate Stadium.
