Texas High’s Tevailance Hunt Offered By Memphis

The recruiting attention hasn't slowed down for Texas High 2018 receiver Tevailance Hunt, despite offering up his verbal commitment more than a month ago.

On Tuesday, the Tigers' playmaker increased his Division I FBS scholarship offer total to 14 when Memphis reached out, he announced on Twitter.

Since committing to Kansas, Hunt (6-2, 180) has added four offers -- Memphis, Florida Atlantic, Houston, and Oklahoma State.

Memphis has been active in East Texas this recruiting season, offering five players form the region in the 2018 class. The Tigers sent out offers to three local recruits on Monday -- Pleasant Grove linebacker Xavier Benson, Kilgore receiver Jonathan Shepherd, and West Rusk linebacker Tyree Wilson.

Hunt caught 36 passes for a team second-best 701 yards and 10 touchdowns last season as Texas High worked its way to a perfect 10-0 regular season. Texas High was upset in the first round of the Class 5A Division I playoffs.

Memphis posted its third consecutive season of eight wins or better with an 8-5 record under first-year coach Mike Norvell. The Tigers made a Boca Raton Bowl appearance after posting a 5-3 mark in American Athletic Conference competition.

Norvell, 35 years old, joined the program after serving as the offensive coordinator and associate head coach under Todd Graham at Arizona State. Norvell gained earlier coaching experience at Tulsa and Pittsburgh.

Memhpis has been to 10 bowl games in its 104-year history, including the past three seasons.

Hunt, like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December.
