TEXARKANA -- TJ Cole ran for two touchdowns and threw another in Pleasant Grove's 31-18 upset win over Pittsburg on Friday in District 7-4A Division II action.

The win was a surprising one for Pleasant Grove (2-6, 1-2 in District 7-4A Division II), which got back into the playoff hunt in district. The loss dropped Pittsburg to 5-3 on the season and gave the Pirates their first loss (2-1) in district.

Cole ran 16 times for 101 yards and completed 2 of 4 passes for 34 yards. On the ground he scored from 1 and 9 yards out in the first and third quarters, respectively. He also threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Chauncey Martin midway through the second quarter to give Pleasant Grove a 14-7 lead.

Pleasant Grove took a 21-6 lead into the half after Keshawn Jones scored a 3-yard touchdown with 1:11 left in the second quarter.

Pittsburg got two late touchdowns from Brett McGee (4-yard run) and Dejour Dowell (33-yard pass from McGee), but the Pirates ran out of time to complete a comeback.

Jaylon Jimmerson connected with Cristion Williams for a 21-yard touchdown with 29 seconds left in the first quarter for Pittsburg, which cut Pleasant Grove's early lead to 7-6.

Jimmerson finished the game with 150 yards passing and McGee threw for 109. Dowell caught six passes for 147 yards in Pittsburg's loss.
