EUSTACE-- The Bulldogs needed some extra time, but they would win, defeating Mildred 53-45 on Tuesday.

Cliff Johnson paced Eustace, finishing with 20 points and four rebounds. Ethan Austin added 14 points and Joey Harris had six steals.

The Bulldogs went into halftime with a 27-16 advantage, but Mildred fought back in the second half.

Eustace shot 41 percent from the floor and improved to 1-2 thus far.

Carthage Girls Earn Pair of Victories

MARSHALL-- The Carthage Lady Bulldogs walked away Tuesday evening with a pair of victories in hand.

First, the Lady Bulldogs won a tight matchup with Marshall, 64-59. They followed that up with a 65-44 win against San Augustine.

Zee McGrue stole the show, finishing with eight steals and 11 points in the game against Marshall. Jada McLin added 13 points to go with six rebounds in the first game.

McGrue added six more steals in the victory against San Augustine. Addi Blissett was the Lady Bulldogs' leading scorer in that game, with 20 points and five steals of her own.

Carthage is 3-1 on the season following the wins. Its next matchup is a 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 in an away game against Tyler Grace Community.

Slocum Boys hand Rusk loss

SLOCUM-- The Mustangs gave a home crowd something to cheer about, defeating Rusk 65-55 on Tuesday.

Taylor Hunt led with 22 points, while Colby Thornton added 16.

Slocum improved to 5-2 with the victory and will next play at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28 in an away game at Douglass.
