WHITEHOUSE -- Javier Neal's game-best 23 points helped Whitehouse dispose of Brownsboro, 59-44, in its final tuneup game before heading to the Burkburnette Tournament.

Neal, who tied for the regular season lead in interceptions during the Wildcats' football season, recorded two 3-pointers as part of his big night.

Colby Duhon broke double digits as well. He recorded a trey and a dunk toward 11 points.

Kenneth Woods and Jamal Bell scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, to lead the Bears.

Whitehouse will begin Burkburnette Tournament competition Thursday with an opening game against Highland Park.

Brownsboro will try to bounce back Thursday as hosts of the Great East Texas Shootout.

 

Slocum Wins Rivalry Game

ELKHART -- Slocum edged Elkhart, 59-49, in a cross-town rivalry game.

Taylor Hunt led seven players in double digits between the two teams with a game-best 21 points for the winning side. Alex Maldonado and Jacob Lane scored 17 and 13 points to complement Hunt.

Elkhart's players with 10 or more points were held to no more than 13 points apiece.

Slocum faced a 17-11 deficit after a quarter, but it put up exactly 23 points in both the second and third frames for an 11-point lead.

The Mustangs will travel to Centerville on Thursday for a tournament game against Anderson-Shiro.

Elkhart also will be in action Thursday at Malakoff Crossroad's tournament.

 

Carlisle Holds Off Mount Enterprise

PRICE -- Carlisle slipped by Mount Enterprise at home, 54-48.

Bryan Mendoza put up a team-best 21 points and further recorded five steals and five rebounds.

Dustin Perry added 14 points and Max Jackson rounded out the Indians' top tier of scorers with 11 points.

Carlisle will take part in the Gary Tournament, which begins for the Indians at 4 p.m. Thursday against Joaquin.

Garrett Rolls In Winona's Win Over Gary

WINONA -- Nichole Garrett scored 29 points in Winona's 69-24 rout of Gary.

Garrett also recorded six rebounds and three steals in the win.

Mallori Shacklett added 11 points for the winning side.

The Lady Wildcats will be back in action Thursday at Bronwsboro's Great East Texas Shootout tournament.

 

Bullard Pounds Alba-Golden

BULLARD -- The Lady Panthers cruised to a 59-28 home win against Alba-Golden.

Hannah Lloyd scored a game-best 20 points and Sydney Foster finished right behind with 19 points for the winning side. Lloyd scored on six 3-point attempts.

Lauren Zachry also hit double figures with 10 points.

Bullard and Alba-Golden will travel to Brownsboro on Thursday for Great East Texas Shootout competition.

 

Henderson Handles Spring Hill

HENDERSON -- The Lady Lions outscored Spring Hill in all but the fourth quarter for a 55-40 win at home.

Tomariyah Dixon led Henderson with 14 points. Ke'Ianya Ballard and Jaclyn Garrett scored in lower double figures.

Lacey White, a sophomore, scored a team-best 11 points for Spring Hill.

Henderson will travel Thursday to Nacogdoches for the Central Heights Tournament. It has opening games at 8:30 a.m. against New Summerfield and at 5:30 p.m. versus Woden.

 

Chapel Hill Doubles Up Harmony

BIG SANDY -- Chapel Hill didn't have much trouble against Class 3A opponent Harmony on its way to a 53-21 road win.

Mykaela Alfred and April Walker tied for a team lead in points with 14 apiece.

Macy Russell scored a team-high 10 points for the Lady Eagles.

Chapel Hill will play in Brownsboro's Great East Texas Shootout this weekend. The competition begins Thursday.
