HENDERSON -- The Carthage Lady Bulldogs clinched the District 19-4A title Tuesday with a 25-23, 25-14, 25-22 sweep of Henderson.

Alli Capps and Cindrasha Boykin led the way with 17 and 11 kills, respectively. Kenzie Templeton added 34 assists, Kaitlyn Nutt had 18 digs, and Ashly Thompson was a perfect 17-of-17 from the service line.

Carthage's season resumes Friday at Tatum.

 

Whitehouse Sweeps John Tyler on Senior Night

WHITEHOUSE -- The Whitehouse LadyCats remained in third place in the District 16-5A standings with a 25-11, 25-22, 25-20 Senior Night sweep of John Tyler on Tuesday.

Beth Hood and Brittany Taylor, two of nine Whitehouse seniors, paced Whitehouse (6-4 in district). Hood had nine kills, three blocks, and three aces, while Brittany Taylor finished with eight kills and 12 digs.

Whitehouse got support from a couple of underclassmen as well. Grace Hendricks had eight kills and 13 digs, while Molly Harris racked up 21 assists to go with two blocks and 11 digs.

The LadyCats travel to Jacksonville on Friday.

 

Alba-Golden Still Perfect in District

ALBA -- The Alba-Golden Lady Panthers stayed unbeaten in District 14-3A with a 25-7, 25-17, 25-21 sweep of Harmony on Tuesday.

Kaylee Bizzell led the way for Alba-Golden (26-7, 10-0) with 11 kills and seven digs. Grace Pendergrass also had 11 kills, CeTara Carter added eight kills and six blocks, Caitlin Lennon registered five kills, 23 assists, and three aces, the duo of Bethany Carson and Hannah Ellis combined for eight blocks, while Briana Weissert chipped in with 14 assists.

Alba-Golden's season resumes Friday at home against Quitman.

 

Quitman Too Much For Mineola

MINEOLA -- The Quitman Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 25-13, 25-8, 25-15 sweep of Mineola in District 14-3A action Tuesday.

Kaci Raley led Quitman (7-3 in district) with 15 kills and 14 digs. Dawn Houck added seven kills and two digs, Macy Wilson had four kills and 12 digs, Molly Tanner finished with three kills and 15 digs, while Cammie Hicks dished out 26 assists to go with six digs.

Quitman plays host to district-leading Alba-Golden on Friday.

 

Beckville Has No Trouble With Shelbyville

SHELBYVILLE -- The Beckville Ladycats strolled to a 25-2, 25-1, 25-8 defeat of Shelbyville on Tuesday to remain perfect in District 20-2A.

Haley Gregory sparked Beckville (30-5, 10-0) with seven kills, five digs, and four aces. Cassie Elizondo had six kills and a block, Carley Lawhorn added five kills, three digs, and seven aces, Kinley Blair finished with four kills, and Kassidy Alexander had 22 assists, eight aces, and a kill.

Beckville plays at Leverett's Chapel on Friday.

 

Emory Rains Sweeps Brownsboro

EMORY -- The Emory Rains Ladycats kept on rolling with a 25-13, 25-17, 25-12 sweep of Brownsboro in District 14-4A play on Senior Night.

Ashley Gowin led Rains (26-10, 6-1) with 11 kills, three blocks, eight digs, and two aces. Charlotte Bradshaw added 10 kills and eight digs, Corley Cole finished with seven kills, six blocks, and 11 assists, while Shelbi Sheppard assisted on 18 points.

Fittingly, the Rains seniors led all statistical categories with the exception of assists.

The Ladycats wrap up district play Friday at Van.
