GLADEWATER -- Lexie Sampson had a big match against Sabine in Van's 25-23, 25-16, 17-25, 25-16 win Tuesday.

Sampson recorded 17 assists as well as three points for the Lady Vandals. She got down 10 serves that ultimately resulted in Van points as well.

Alli Lloyd, Macy Rucker and Grace Santos all contributed nine points in the win to tie for the best point total on the team.

M'Kenna Daniel scored eight points on five aces and three kills. She also saved 22 potential Sabine points with digs.

Van will be back in action this weekend at the Wills Point Tournament. Sabine will host Longview Trinity School of Texas on Friday.

 

Beckville Gets Big Win Against Henderson

BECKVILLE -- The Ladycats swept Henderson from the Class 4A level, 25-14, 25-17, 25-21.

Riley Seegers led the way with nine kills, three blocks and two aces for 14 points in total. Kinley Blair scored 11 points in the match to finish second on Beckville's winning scoresheet.

Courtlyn Nail aced a team-best four serves and added a kill.

Beckville will participate in West Rusk's tournament this weekend. Pool play for the varsity team begins Friday.

 

Emory Rains Overcomes First Set For Match Win Over Princeton

EMORY -- McKenna Hildebrant had a big night around the net for Emory Rains in its 22-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-20 win against Princeton.

Hildebrant scored a season-best 10 blocks for the Lady Cats.

As usual, Charlotte Bradshaw led the team in scoring. She recorded 11 kills and also saved 20 potential Princeton points on defense.

Setter Shelbi Sheppard recorded 20 assists and Summer Nerkowski aced five serves in the four-set win.

Rains will visit Quinlan Ford on Friday for its next match.

 

Quitman Sweeps Trinidad

QUITMAN -- The Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 25-8, 25-17, 25-13 win against Trinidad.

Molly Tanner aced 10 serves in the contest and also scored on four kills for a team-best 14 points in the three-set match.

Kaci Raley scored 11 points and Cammie Hicks set up 22 Quitman points from the setter position.

Quitman will travel to Pine Tree on Friday for its next contest.
