WACO -- Terry Pirtle went out a winner.

The Bullard Brook Hill baseball coach led the Guard to their third consecutive TAPPS 3A state championship after a 7-5 win over Bryan Brazos Christian on Wednesday.

Pirtle, who also guided Brook Hill to a state runner-up finish in 2010, is leaving Brook Hill after he accepted the head football coaching position at Houston Second Baptist in April.

Quintin Pile notched the win on the mound. He struck out 14 in six innings, and allowed two runs on five hits.

Brook Hill broke open a 1-0 game by scoring six runs total in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

Drew Robertson led Brook Hill by going 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Mike Greening, Clayton Engel, Pile and Blake Maddox all had one hit and one RBI in the win.
