Five minutes before Gilmer and West Orange-Stark kicked off their Class 4A Division II state championship game on Friday at AT&T Stadium, Daylon Mack was the biggest news of the day.

The five-star defensive tackle from Gladewater broke the news on Twitter that he has decommitted from Texas A&M and will announce his top two new schools on Saturday.

The news came mere hours after Mesquite Poteet's highly coveted recruits Malik Jefferson and DeAndre McNeal announced their commitments to The University of Texas. Jefferson and Mack are close friends.

Mack originally committed to Texas A&M in the middle of his junior season at Gladewater of October 2013.

Mack is the ninth-rated overall recruit by Scout.com and is ranked the top defensive tackle in Texas.
