Dee McDuff + Rusk Hold Off Diboll, 40-35

RUSK -- The Rusk Eagles claimed sole possession of second place of District 8-4A Division II with a 40-35 win over Diboll on Friday at Jim Swink Field at Eagle Stadium.

Rusk quarterback Dee McDuff scored a touchdown with 28 seconds left for the win to reach 8-2 on the year 3-1 in league play.

McDuff rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, while completing 9 of 15 passes for 146 yards and two more scores.

Diboll scored 21 consecutive points to take a 35-34 lead after Rusk went up 34-14.
