Last year, the Gladewater Bears suffered through their worst season since 2003, finishing with just two wins.

But take a look at the Bears' schedule. It included games against Carthage, Kilgore, Gilmer, Pittsburg, and Pleasant Grove.

Gladewater got some good news this offseason as it will head down to Class 3A where the Bears should be much more competitive.

With 10 starters back, Gladewater likes its chances. It begins the year ranked No. 6 in ETSN.fm's Class 3A Poll.

Rashaud Johnson is probably Gladewater's best all-around player, and will have a starring role on both offense at fullback and his natural position of linebacker on defense.

Quarterback Danny Badger has a full season under his belt, and the offensive line should be a strength with Tristan Seahorn and David Bohanon returning.

District 8-3A Division I won't be easy as Gladewater must contend with the likes of West Rusk, Tatum, Mineola, and White Oak.
