The Center Roughriders made a splash in the first year under head coach Barry Bowman, winning 10 games and reaching the third round of the playoffs.

With half of their starters returning in 2016, the Roughriders once again have big plans.

Center checks in at No. 6 in the Preseason Class 4A Poll.

The 'Riders are making the jump up from 4A Division II to Division I, and will be competing in the "District of Doom," along with East Texas heavyweights Carthage, Henderson, Kilgore, and Chapel Hill.

Fortunately for Center, a couple of big-time weapons return this season.

The Roughriders may have the district's top QB-WR combination in seniors Kyle Parks and Octavius Evans. Parks is a genuine dual-threat behind center, while Evans is among the most recruited players in all of East Texas.

Center will have a few voids to fill on the defensive side of the ball, but does welcome back six starters, including linebacker Adrian Johnson and defensive back Keyshawn Barnes.
