Girls Basketball Roundup: Sha’Traven Ransom Powers Hughes Springs + No. 1 Martin’s Mill Rolls

HUGHES SPRINGS — Sha’Traven Ransom had another big night in leading Hughes Springs to a 52-40 win against Paul Pewitt on Friday.

Ransom had 25 points, 15 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks, while teammate Kaycee Willis added 10 points and eight rebounds.

The win gave Hughes Springs an 8-3 record in district. Paul Pewitt fell to 6-5 in league play.

Divana Williams led Paul Pewitt with 14 points. Teammate Ladaysha Thomas scored 13 points.

No. 1 Martin’s Mill Drills Carlisle, 71-22

MARTIN’S MILL — Haily Jenkins dropped 31 points to lead top-ranked Martin’s Mill to a 71-22 rout of Carlisle on Friday.

The game marked Jenkins’ fourth in a row with at least 30 points. She hit three three-pointers during Friday’s 49-point victory.

Martin’s Mill’s Cheyenne Brown scored 14 points. Teammate Taylor Munns added 12.

Three Lady Tigers Reach Double Figures in Neches’ 42-Point Victory

NECHES — Kiandra Taylor, Kamry Kinder, and Kelsee Wade combined to score 46 points in Neches’ 73-31 blowout of Alto on Friday.

Taylor scored a game-high 18 points. Kinder had 16 points and Wade added 12. Teammate MacKay-Lee Chapman netted eight points.

The win pushed Neches (16-12) to 6-1 in district play, while Alto fell to 0-7 in league action.

Ivy Rieke’s Double-Double Powers Beckville to 45-21 Senior Night Win

BECKVILLE — Ivy Rieke racked up 19 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals to lead Beckville to a 45-21 senior night victory over Trinity in Friday’s non-district matchup.

Beckville (13-14), which honored senior Maya Bradford and Shanell Smith, got 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals from Bradford, while Kimber Wesner added four points, six rebounds, and six steals.

Beckville resumes district play with Tuesday’s 6:15 p.m. game at Carlisle.
